Static and Dynamic IP Addresses on MESH

Clients will probably want their machines to pick up IP addresses dynamically (automatically) most of the time. However, devices such as printers are usually best configured with a static (non-changing) address. This image shows a typical configuration:

This shows a subnet address of 10.0.25.0, the available static address are .2 to .9; the address MESH will assign automatically go from .10 to .250.

Locking a Dynamic Address

It is possible to make an assigned dynamic address static on 'new MESH'. This is done by finding the address on the client summary page and clicking Lock (bottom-right of the image).

It is not possible to do this on 'old MESH', but dynamic addresses tend not to change on any one device for a very long time.
